A289 Wainscott by-pass and Medway Tunnel

The A289 Wainscott by-pass runs from the 8 laned section of the A2 and M2 at junction 1 west of Rochester to the A228 near Chattenden. The A289 then goes through the Medway Tunnel and then it becomes the Gillingham relief road. All of the A289 is Dual carriageway.

Construction completed in 2002. Can be found on Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 178. See location on map and aerial photo.
