A249 Sheppey Crossing

The A249 Sheppey Crossing opened to traffic on 03,07,06. The dual carriageway bridge improves access onto the Isle of Sheppey and by-passes the old single carriageway Kingsferry Bridge.

Construction completed in 2006 .

Looking south east along the Swale in 2005. The existing Kingsferry Bridge can be seen. On the other side of the Swale on the Isle of Sheppey construction has started on the new A249 bridge.
