A143 Stuston by-pass

The A143 road runs from Haverhill in Suffolk to Great Yarmouth in Norfolk passing through Bury St Edmunds and by-passing a number of villages on route. The A143 Stuston by-pass was constructed in the 1990s and replaces the old A143 which went through the villages of Palgrave and Scole. The road through Stuston was used as a short cut to avoid the old A143.

Construction completed in 1990. Can be found on Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 144. See location on map and aerial photo.

The photos show how the new A143 goes through part of Stuston Common.
