This 1999 photo shows a quiet country lane at Rettendon which is to become the cutting for the A130 road. The cottage which can just be seen to the right of the lane will survive when the A130 road is constructed. |
The 2003 photo shows the lane and the trees have gone but the cottage can just be seen on the other side of the A130 by-pass. |

Lane at Rettendon in 1999 at the boundary of the new A130 before construction. |
This photo (taken in 2003) shows how the part of the lane which has survived the A130 construction has been grassed over. The A130 by-pass is behind the fence in a cutting. Although the lane has gone the tree on the left of the photo has survived. The cottage which was on the right of the lane in the before photo can also be seen on this photo, also the trees in the background (right of photo) link the 2 photos. |
